The famous Austrian locomotive engineer Karl Gölsdorf developed this showpiece for the Austrian railways and international experts are still paying tribute to the 310 today for its classic beauty. The imperial court trains were often coupled up behind it. Ninety-eight locomotives were built between 1911 and 1918, only one of which is still in existence today and used for special trips. The express train locomotive weighed 86 tonnes and reached a speed of 100 km/h.
